Blu-ray Duplication

If you prefer to leave it to the experts, our Blu-ray duplication service is ideal for short runs (less than 1000) as it is quick and cost effective.

CD Team have the leading Blu-ray duplication and Blu-ray printing equipment which is fully automated for Blu-ray publishing. These machines are looked after by qualified engineers who will ensure your Blu-ray discs are produced to the highest quality. The colour printers are well known within the industry for their robotic precision and speed, therefore maintaining a high level of print quality and efficient production.

The process for Blu-ray duplication utilises 'Blu-ray copiers' that take the data content from the master Blu-ray and burn the information onto another Blu-ray disc. A BD-R (recordable) disc is used during this process; these discs have a purple recordable surface. This contains a photosensitive dye that darkens to create a digital code that will be read by the laser in your HD player.

Blu-ray Replication

Due to the complexity of this process we recommend you contact us or call 01491 636373 to discuss your larger run Blu-ray requirements.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT BLU-RAY REPLICATION PRODUCTION
We can only offer Blu-ray replication to actual content owners. Part of the complex replication process is the AACS copy protection, and it is not possible to manufacture without it. Without the AACS key, the disk would not function. The content owner must sign up with AACS and obtain the AACS license number which will be needed as part of the replication process.

You should allow 10-12 working days for the AACS Application / Mastering, 5 working days for a testmold if required and a further 15-17 working days for the replication and packaging. These time lines could change during peak periods.

The process for replicating Blu-ray discs involves the creation of a 'glass master'; this is a mould which enables a stamp to be created. Your Blu-ray discs are pressed by the master stamp which creates a pit into the surface and then metallises it to create a reflective coat. A HD player will read the pits via its laser. Finally a protective lacquer is added giving a top surface suitable for print. This process has higher sets up costs than duplication, which is why it is mostly suitable for larger quantities. We also recommend screen-printing or offset (litho) printing for your Blu-ray as it is more cost effective.

Blu-ray printing

CD Team offer several options for printing onto your Blu-ray discs. We can print pantone spot colours, as well as offering options for full colour print and simple black print.

If you would like Blu-ray printing only without the duplication or replication process, this is available as a service. We can supply print-only Blu-ray discs which you can then burn the data onto yourselves using one of our Blu-ray duplicators.
